Clothing in shops has become a frustrating mix of high prices, thin fabric, rushed stitching, and fits that feel wrong on real bodies.
Make & Wear is an in-person garment construction series of masterclasses that teaches you how to make clothing with better fit, better finish and better wearability – using a structured sequence of garments and step-by-step guidance.
The masterclass series is divided into three progressive modules. Each module is made up of a group of workshops, which can be completed in order.
Workshops are planned well in advance and listed on our events website, making it easy for you to add them to your calendar and plan ahead.

The Outerwear module focuses on layered fabric items, and are available once the Foundation module has been completed or you’ve been assessed by the masterclass series instructor.

No. However, you do need basic sewing experience. If you’ve never sewn before or are not a confident sewist yet, we highly recommend that you complete our Learn to Sew course first OR book a coaching programme.
Not necessarily. The emphasis is on understanding construction, so you don’t need to feel rushed in class. It is natural for some sewists to sew slow and others faster.
Should an item not be completed in class, guidance will be given for completing garments at home.
You will need to bring your own sewing machine, fabric, and notions.
Your machines must be clean, recently serviced, and in good working order so that we can focus on making the item.
However, should a machine give trouble, a technician will be on standby.
Yes. Patterns and detailed notes are supplied for each module.
If you’ve booked a module but are unable to attend a workshop, you’re more than welcome to book a one-on-one coaching session instead, charged at our standard coaching rates.
No. This is a practical skills course with informal recognition of completion.
