Celebrate the majestic Southern Right Whale that visits Hermanus every year!
Perfect for all skill levels – especially raw beginners – this 3-hour session lets you craft a unique cushion measuring 65x35cm, inspired by our local marine treasures.
Kit (Optional)
A kit is available at a cost of R200. Included in the kit are:
- Cutout denim fabric
- Stuffing
Please indicate on the RSVP whether you’ll be taking a kit.

Who can attend?
This workshop is for adults aged 18 and up. We love little ones, but this session is just for grown-ups – thanks for understanding!
What do I need to bring?
- Sewing machine
- Your sewing kit
- Black sewing thread
I've never sewn before; can I join?
This is a perfect opportunity for those who have never sewn before to taste sewing; It’s easy and fun!
I don't have a sewing machine; do I need to bring one?
If you don’t have a sewing machine, no problem! We’ll set a basic sewing machine up, thread it for you and give you a quick guidance on it.
Can I bring my own fabric instead of taking a kit?
You’re welcome to! Just indicate on the reservation form that you won’t be taking a kit.
In addition to the items you need to bring, you would also need:
- 2 packs of stuffing (available at Bernina Overberg)
- 1m of fabric, preferably 100% cotton or denim.
