There’s a good chance your overlocker came with a few mysterious feet you tucked away for “one day.” And there they’ve stayed – silent, shiny and slightly intimidating.
Whether you’ve been overlocking for years or only recently dared to thread the thing without swearing, you’re not alone in wondering what those extra feet actually do. The gathering foot? Looks aggressive. The elasticator? Sounds complicated. The blindstitch foot? Might as well be a tiny spaceship.

But here’s the thing – not everyone even knows these feet exist. You might be wrestling with tricky hems, wavy elastic, or uneven ruffles without realizing there’s a foot that makes it easier.
This session is about connecting the dots between the sewing frustrations you face and the tools that quietly solve them – whether you already own the foot or are only just discovering it for the first time.
What You’ll See
We’ll walk through four often-overlooked overlocker feet: gathering, elasticator, blindstitch and multi-purpose. You’ll see each one demonstrated clearly – how it works, what kinds of fabric it suits and when it’s worth reaching for.
Demonstrations will take place on Bernina and Bernette machines, but the techniques and principles apply across all brands. If your machine works with similar feet, you’ll be able to put these insights into practice right away.
Who It's For
All overlocker owners are welcome. Whether your feet are still in the box, lost in a drawer, or completely unknown to you – we’ll make sense of them together in a relaxed, supportive setting.
Expect lightbulb moments, a few laughs and the quiet joy of solving sewing problems you didn’t realize had simple solutions.

How do I book?
We’ve made booking your workshop seat easier than ever! You can now buy your ticket and pay immediately online via credit card, debit card, or EFT — quick, safe, and secure through iKhokha.
Here’s how it works, step by step:
Step 1: Choose Your Tickets
- Look for the section labelled “Tickets” (as shown in the first image).
- Click the plus (+) icon to select how many tickets you’d like to buy. Booking for a friend? Simply increase the number!
- Once you’ve selected the quantity, click the “Get Tickets” button.
Step 2: Enter Attendee Details
- You’ll be taken to the Tickets page.
- For each ticket, complete the attendee’s details.
- This allows you to book seats for yourself and any friends you’re bringing along.
Step 3: Checkout & Payment
- After entering attendee details, click “Checkout Now.”
- You’ll be prompted to enter the payee’s information (the person making payment).
- The final step will direct you to the secure iKhokha payment page, where you can pay online using your preferred method.
That’s it! You’ll receive an email with your ticket shortly after.
