Take your overlocking skills to the next level with this fun, full-day workshop designed to inspire, challenge, and empower you!
You’ll create a beautifully finished, fully lined drawstring bag using only your overlocker — no sewing machine required! This project is ideal for those who want to explore the true potential of their overlocker, while making something stylish and practical.
Throughout the day, you’ll discover how to:
- Sew decorative flatlock, roll hem, and ladder weave stitches
- Incorporate shadow work for texture and flair
- Construct a multi-pocket, professionally finished bag
- Work confidently with 3- and 4-thread stitches
Whether you’re a confident beginner or an experienced sewist, you’ll leave with new techniques, a completed bag, and loads of inspiration for future projects. It’s a great way to build confidence with your overlocker in a friendly, supportive environment.

Programme
- 9:00-9:30 – Arrive and enjoy a cuppa.
- 9:30-12:00 – We will prepare the decorative pockets, stitches and techniques as given.
- 12:00-13:00 – Lunch break.
- 13:00-15:00 – We complete our multi-purpose bags!
Lunch
We’ll take a dedicated lunch break and you’re welcome to bring your own lunch. Alternatively, we’ll share a menu from nearby restaurants to place an order 30 minutes before lunch.

All haberdashery, sewing items and fabric can be purchased from us at the latest a day before we start.

Important Note About Your Fabric Prep
To keep things running smoothly and ensure that we make the most of our creative time together, please arrive with your fabric already cut according to the measurements provided.
This helps us dive straight into sewing without delays and respects the time of everyone who’s ready to start.
If you’re unsure about how to cut your fabric or feel a little nervous about it, don’t worry — just reach out to Hester, our sewing instructor. She’s happy to assist and can help you prepare. But, please make arrangements with her at the latest one day before the workshop starts.
