Whether it’s been gathering dust, was a thoughtful inheritance, or a lucky second-hand find, this workshop is designed to help you feel confident & capable with your mechanical sewing machine. Within just 3 hours, you’ll discover:

  1. Essential Tools & Techniques:
    • Choosing the right needles, thread & fabric.
    • Understanding presser feet & their functions.
    • Threading your machine.
  2. Stitches & Skills:
    • Master straight stitches, pivoting corners, triple straight stitches & stretch stitches.
    • Navigate thick seams, blind hems, buttonholes & decorative stitches.
    • Learn to sew buttons with precision & ease.
  3. Sewing Machine Care:
    • Get hands-on with your bobbin, bobbin case & maintenance essentials.

This session is tailored for users of mechanical sewing machines, including certain Bernette models (see FAQ below).

The difference between a mechanical & an electronic sewing machine lies in their functionality, operation & features.

  • A mechanical sewing machine operates by manually adjusting knobs, levers & dials for stitch selection, length & width. Technologically, it relies on mechanical parts like gears, belts & levers to function.
  • An electronic sewing machine is powered by an electric motor & controlled using buttons, a digital display, or a touch screen. Technology, it incorporates computer chips & electronics for precision & automation.

This training session is specifically tailored for mechanical sewing machine users.

Here’s how it works, step by step:

Step 1: Choose Your Tickets

  • Look for the section labelled “Tickets” (as shown in the first image).
  • Click the plus (+) icon to select how many tickets you’d like to buy. Booking for a friend? Simply increase the number!
  • Once you’ve selected the quantity, click the “Get Tickets” button.

Step 2: Enter Attendee Details

  • You’ll be taken to the Tickets page.
  • For each ticket, complete the attendee’s details.
  • This allows you to book seats for yourself and any friends you’re bringing along.

Step 3: Checkout & Payment

  • After entering attendee details, click “Checkout Now.”
  • You’ll be prompted to enter the payee’s information (the person making payment).
  • The final step will direct you to the secure iKhokha payment page, where you can pay online using your preferred method.
  • That’s it! You’ll receive an email with your ticket shortly after.
