MAKE & WEAR: Daisy Skirt

Tuesday, 7 April, 2026 - Tuesday, 21 April, 2026

The Skirt Your Wardrobe’s Been Waiting For

There’s something magical about finding that just right piece for your wardrobe – flattering, feminine and versatile enough to wear with anything from a slouchy sweater to a breezy summer tee. That’s exactly what the Daisy Skirt promises.

We’re inviting you to join us for a workshop that brings sewing joy, creativity and a fresh burst of possibility. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve stitched your way through many me-made outfits, this experience is designed to meet you where you are – and take you further.

One Skirt, Endless Seasons

The Daisy Skirt is a dreamy, figure-skimming pattern that flares just enough to move beautifully with every step. With a button-down front and the option to customize the slit height, it flatters a wide range of bodies and styles.

Originally designed for light and flowy summer fabrics like rayon crepe, the skirt transitions beautifully into colder weather too. Think of it in a soft corduroy, brushed cotton, or even a fine wool blend – suddenly that “summer” skirt becomes your Winter layering secret weapon. Pop on leggings and boots and you’re ready for anything from a stroll through the market to a cosy coffee catch-up.

A Make & Wear Masterclass

This workshop is part of our Make & Wear Masterclass Series

Make & Wear is an in-person garment construction series of masterclasses that teaches you how to make clothing with better fit, better finish and better wearability – using a structured sequence of garments and step-by-step guidance.

Solo Sewist?

Never attended an event with us before? Try this one!

This workshop isn’t about keeping pace – it’s about finding YOUR rhythm. Some sewists like to take their time, enjoying each step with quiet focus. Others move a little faster and that’s perfectly fine too. We’ve created a space where you can relax, breathe and sew the way YOU like to sew, with a patient, understanding sewing instructor.

And remember, if your skirt isn’t finished by the end of the session, you’re always welcome to come back and complete it with us on another day. It’s important for us that you find joy in sewing, not frustration.

Believe us: the real joy comes from stitching in good company, at a pace that feels just right!

Never Sewn Before?

Beginner sewists, this is your moment: the Daisy Skirt is surprisingly simple to make, yet packed with techniques that build confidence – facing, darts, side seams, waistband finishes and a neat button placket. You’ll walk away not just with a beautiful garment, but with real sewing skills under your belt.

Advanced Sewist?

There’s still plenty to love for you too! From experimenting with fabric drape and button placement to finessing your finishings, this project is a satisfying and stylish palette cleanser.

One Skirt, All Skill Levels!

Whether you’re threading your machine for the first time or have stitched through decades of fabric, this workshop brings every level of sewist together in one shared creative space. It’s not about how much you know – it’s about what you’ll create, discover and enjoy along the way. The Daisy Skirt Workshop is where beginners grow, seasoned sewists glow and everyone leaves with something beautiful to wear and remember.

Come for the skirt, stay for the creativity and leave with a sense of accomplishment you can wear. We can’t wait to sew with you!

Dates & Times

  • First Session: Tuesday, 7 April @ 9am-12pm
  • Second Session: Tuesday, 14 April @ 9am-12pm
  • Third Session: Tuesday, 21 April @ 9am-12pm

Programme

First Session

We’ll begin by tracing the pattern, cutting your chosen fabric and stitching the pockets. From there, we’ll shape the skirt with darts and sew the side seams. After that, you’ll take it home for a bit of relaxed sewing in your own time – just the way you like it.

Second & Third Session

Back at the workshop, we’ll complete the waistband, add the button placket and finish off with a neat hem – bringing your Daisy skirt beautifully together, ready to wear and enjoy.

And if you’re not quite finished by the end of the day – or run into a little snag along the way – don’t worry. You’re welcome to arrange another time with Hester, who will patiently and warmly guide you through the final steps. We’re here to make sure you leave with a skirt you love and the confidence that comes with completing it at your own pace.
