Skill-Building, Step by Step

Over three focused half-day sessions, you’ll cut your pattern, lay out your fabric correctly, and construct your blouse step by step. You’ll learn how each component fits together – from collar construction to neat buttonholes – building confidence as you sew.

Whether you’re a Confident Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced sewist, this workshop will meet you at your level. Beginners gain structured guidance. Experienced sewists refine technique and finishing.

You’ll leave with a completed blouse – ready to wear with pride!

TOOLS

  • Your sewing machine (clean and recently serviced)
  • Your basic sewing kit: pair of scissors, fabric markers, measuring tape, pins etc.
  • The following presser feet: regular stitch foot, edge foot, buttonhole foot and button sew-on foot.

FABRIC

  • 2m soft linen or 100% cotton (no stretch, or specialty fabric)
  • ¼m Vilene (iron-on interfacing preferred. No paper vilene.)
  • 8 matching buttons

Vilene and thread are available to purchase from us.

Yes. A daily plan will be provided and small homework steps may be given to keep you on track.

IMPORTANT

  • Please make sure that you’re familiar with how your sewing machine works before attending the workshop.
  • We would also appreciate it if you could bring your chosen fabric to show the instructor before the class begins on the 16th. This allows us to check that it’s suitable and ensures you’ll have the best possible result for your blouse.
